Session Name: MLOps - The DevOps Way to Deploy ML Models

DevOps philosophy, processes and tools have increased the ability to deliver applications and services at high velocity. This in turn has enabled evolution and improvement of products at a faster pace as compared to traditional software development and infrastructure management processes. Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning has seen widespread use across organizations and governments worldwide. Till a few years back these concepts and technologies were still being practiced and talked about only in R&D environments. It has now increased in maturity with data scientists and data engineers collaborating towards common business goals. The power of AI/ML can be felt across sectors like energy, retail, automotive, finance, healthcare, etc. The increased usage comes with its own challenges - machine learning models cannot exist in silo and have to be deployed in production environment. MLOps paradigm aims to deploy and maintain machine learning models in production reliably and efficiently. It is focused on streamlining the process of taking machine learning models to production, and then maintaining and monitoring them. MLOps is a collaborative function, often comprising data scientists, devops engineers, and IT. The session will given an overview of MLOps, dive into the tools and techniques with some examples of real-world solutions. MLOps is really different in some ways, but this session will show how MLOps can still benefit from DevOps principles.
